The Mountain pose – Parvatasana is one of the most important sitting postures in yoga.

Practicing this pose, the practitioner can enjoy many health benefits both physically and mentally, such as: stretching abdominal muscles;expanding pelvic muscles;repair the back muscles;enhance alveolar walls and increase lung capacity;remove excess fat at the waist;enhance the flexibility of intercostal muscles;enhance blood circulation and eliminate blood clots;stimulating the heart chakra, calming the mind and spirit;and, improve concentration, increase balance and coordination, etc.

This pose may also be difficult for many people. Practitioners must practice well before the Lotus pose before practicing this pose.
